SUB 300 Ti5 Clive Cussler: Exploring New Depths
A dive watch has always been defined by what it allows us to discover.
Since the introduction of the original SUB 300 in 1967, DOXA has built its reputation around creating instruments that combine function, reliability and unmistakable character. Nearly six decades later, the new SUB 300 Ti5 Clive Cussler revisits this foundational model through a new material and an entirely new approach to dial construction.
The result is a SUB 300 unlike any before it.

The SUB 300, Reimagined
The choice of the SUB 300 as the foundation for this special edition is no coincidence.
Introduced in 1967, the SUB 300 was the watch that established DOXA as a pioneer in professional diving. Designed for serious underwater use while remaining accessible to a wider audience, it introduced many of the features that would become signatures of the SUB collection: the cushion-shaped case, the unmistakable orange dial, exceptional legibility and the patented unidirectional rotating bezel.
For the SUB 300 Ti5 Clive Cussler, DOXA returns to this original icon and gives it a contemporary interpretation through Grade 5 titanium.
Lightweight, strong and highly resistant to corrosion, titanium brings a new dimension to the SUB 300 experience. It reduces weight on the wrist while preserving the robustness expected from a professional dive instrument.
But the most striking evolution is found beneath the sapphire crystal.

A Dial Built in Two Dimensions
At first glance, the dial reveals the familiar DOXA language: strong contrasts, precise markings and the immediate readability that has defined the SUB for generations.
Look closer, however, and a new level of complexity appears. For the first time, DOXA introduces a two-level dial architecture entirely crafted from Grade 5 titanium.
The construction consists of two superimposed titanium layers. The lower dial carries the luminous hour markers and minute track, while the upper dial is precisely laser-cut to reveal the elements beneath it.
The result is a genuine sense of depth created not through decoration, but through architecture.
The small distance separating the two layers allows light and shadow to interact throughout the day, creating subtle changes in appearance depending on the viewing angle. In bright conditions, the dial reveals its precise mechanical construction. In low visibility, the Super-LumiNova® elements emerge clearly, reinforcing the essential purpose of every DOXA dive watch: readability when it matters most.
The effect is reminiscent of the ocean itself, where the surface reveals only a glimpse of what exists below.

Function First
While the dial introduces a new visual language, the fundamentals remain unchanged.
The SUB 300 Ti5 Clive Cussler is a true dive instrument, water-resistant to 300 metres and equipped with DOXA’s patented unidirectional rotating bezel. Its dual-scale design combines depth and dive time indications, helping divers remain within established no-decompression limits.
The oversized orange minute hand remains one of the most recognisable signatures of the SUB collection, immediately directing attention to the most critical information underwater.
The same orange accent appears on the bezel depth scale and on selected date numerals 15, 7 and 31 marking Clive Cussler’s birth date.
Every detail has been considered.

Titanium Throughout
The use of Grade 5 titanium extends beyond the case.
The caseback, crown and the innovative two-layer dial are all crafted from the same advanced material, creating a coherent technical expression throughout the watch.
Measuring 42.50 mm by 45.00 mm with a thickness of 13.40 mm, the SUB 300 Ti5 Clive Cussler combines presence with comfort. Despite its robust specifications, titanium ensures a noticeably lighter feel on the wrist (less than 70 grams !), an advantage appreciated both during long dives and everyday wear.
Inside, the COSC-certified Swiss automatic movement provides the reliability expected from a modern mechanical instrument, offering approximately 38 hours of power reserve.

A New Chapter for the SUB 300
The SUB 300 Ti5 Clive Cussler brings together several defining elements of DOXA’s history: the original SUB 300 design, the spirit of exploration associated with Clive Cussler, and the return of Grade 5 titanium to the collection.
But above all, it introduces a new way of looking at a DOXA SUB.
A watch traditionally defined by its purpose now reveals a new dimension through its construction.
Because exploration has always been about looking deeper.
And sometimes, the greatest discoveries are found just beneath the surface.
